Birds of Truckee Meadows - Birds of the Great Basin

This popular class series features our experts in birds, who share their knowledge on the identification of birds that we see in northern Nevada. Whether you are just beginning to discover birds or would like to improve your birdwatching skills, come learn how to identify Nevada birds with us! Class 2 of the Birds of Truckee Meadows 5-class series! Instructor: Ned Bohman, Great Basin Bird Observatory. In our area, the Sierra Nevada meets the Great Basin desert, and the transition in ecosystems means we see a variety of different birds if we travel down the road a few miles! In this class, Ned Bohman, will present about the types of birds you can find in our high desert landscape. Ned will describe important life history information and talk about how to identify our desert species.
