A trail winds through the riparian area along the Truckee River and we should see Warblers, Towhees, Raptors, Waterfowl, Flycatchers, Bluebirds, Sapsuckers, Woodpeckers and maybe Dippers.

Crystal Peak Park Field Trip

Date/Time: Friday, June 5, 2026, 7:00 am (~2 hrs)

Leader: Jeff Bleam

Difficulty: Washoe County - 2-3mi EASY - uneven trail. 

Description:

From the parking area, we will look at the ponds for Ducks, Geese, and Cormorants. A trail winds through the riparian area along the Truckee River and we should see Warblers, Towhees, Raptors, Waterfowl, Flycatchers, Bluebirds, Sapsuckers, Woodpeckers and maybe Dippers. Swallows should be numerous and there is a chance of seeing Vaux Swift.
