Time & Location
Dec 06, 2026, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Sparks Marina Park, 300 Howard Dr, Sparks, NV 89434, USA
About the event
Please join the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance for a community bird walk at Sparks Marina Park!
We will identify a variety of waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors that call this place home. During the Winter months, Reno will often get pop ups of Common Loons and sometimes Pacific Loons! During this walk we will attempt to find one or both Loon species.
This walk is open to people of all identities and all levels of birding (beginner, advanced etc.). Specifically, this walk welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and family members who want to enjoy the outdoors together. We recognize that members of the LGBTQIA+ community have been historically excluded and underrepresented in birding and the outdoors. We want to change this and create a welcoming place where people of all identities can feel they belong.
Along the walk, we will spend time picking up trash along the river. Please bring gloves if you have them. Trash bags will be provided. Let's show solidarity with the River Justice movement, respect our downstream neighbors, and help make our cherished birding spots safe and clean for the wildlife we love!
