We will start at the Ophir Trail and take the Lower Tahoe Meadows trail where there have been nesting Pine Grosbeaks the last few years. Moderate hike.

Difficulty: 4 mi Moderate - uneven single track, elevation ±300ft. 

Leader: Jeff Bleam

When: Friday, June 19, 2026, 7:00 am (~3 hrs)

Description:

We will start at the Ophir Trail and take the Lower Tahoe Meadows trail where there have been nesting Pine Grosbeaks the last few years. We will also see Hummingbirds, Warblers, Towhees, Raptors, Flycatchers, Bluebirds, Sapsuckers, and Woodpeckers. In some years we have heard Mountain Quail and seen Red Crossbills.
