Lower Tahoe Meadows Field Trip
Difficulty: Moderate +/- 4 miles on boardwalk and unpaved, uneven, single track trail, Elevation ±300ft

When: Friday, July 24, 2026, 7:00 am (~3 hrs)
Description:
We will start at the Lower Tahoe Meadows area, where there have been nesting Pine Grosbeaks the last few years. We will also see Hummingbirds, Warblers, Sparrows, Towhees, Raptors, Flycatchers, Bluebirds, Sapsuckers, and Woodpeckers. In some years, we have heard Mountain Quail and seen Red Crossbills.
About: Jo Ann Cobb is an avid hiker, backpacker, and skier who loves exploring the natural environment, including in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lived for many years, and now at Lake Tahoe, where she has resided since 2017. After many years of being an occasional birder, she has now leveled up to be an active birder since 2021, going on field trips with the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance and the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science, and traveling about the United States and abroad.
