Description:
The 2mi hike around the lake can yield Nuthatches, Flycatchers, Kinglets, Vireos, nesting Osprey, and Ducks on the lake. This time of year we have seen Wilson’s, MacGillivray’s, and Nashville Warblers and there is a good chance of seeing White-headed Woodpeckers, and Evening Grosbeaks. We may hike up North Canyon Road in search of a Pileated Woodpecker and other woodpeckers. There is a fee to park a Spooner Lake State Park.
