Spooner Lake Field Trip
Join us for a 3-4 mile hike around the lake to look for higher elevation birds and early fall migrants. There is a parking fee ($10 for NV residents and $15 for out of state) for this state park.

Description: The 2 mile hike around the lake can yield Nuthatches, Flycatchers, Kinglets, Vireos, nesting Osprey, and Ducks on the lake. This time of year we have seen Wilson’s, MacGillivray’s, and Nashville Warblers and there is a good chance of seeing White-headed Woodpeckers and Evening Grosbeaks. There is a fee to park a Spooner Lake SP.
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, 2+ miles on flat trail, elevation ±200ft.
