KTMB & Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance Fall Swan Lake Clean-Up

Join the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful for a morning of community stewardship at the Swan Lake Nature Study Area!

Our bi-annual Fall Clean-Up brings volunteers together to help restore and protect one of northern Nevada's important bird areas. During this event, we'll remove invasive plants around the walkway to the floating walkway and nature area pavilion and collect litter along the Lemmon Drive Drain, improving habitat for birds and other wildlife while helping keep our community beautiful.

Whether you're a longtime volunteer or joining us for the first time, your help makes a real difference. If you have younger volunteers that would like to participate, we recommend them to be ages 9 and up!  Tools snacks and water are provided. Family Friendly all ages, children must have an adult present.

What to Bring

• Work gloves

• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)

• Sturdy, long-sleeved clothing and closed-toe shoes for protection from weeds

• Insect repellent

• Water in a reusable bottle

Come spend a few hours outdoors, meet fellow conservation-minded community members, and help protect an important habitat for local birds and wildlife. Join us afterwards at a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic with free food, drinks, and a raffle from 12-2 PM at Bartley Ranch. We look forward to seeing you there!
