About the event

Presented by the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance (formerly the Lahontan Audubon Society), this classroom-based workshop explores techniques for identifying Nevada’s often-confusing birds of prey. Learn to distinguish between buteos and accipiters, such as the Red-tailed Hawk and Cooper’s Hawk, as well as harriers, falcons, and eagles. Using taxidermy mounts, museum study skins, and a detailed PowerPoint presentation, instructors will highlight key field marks and characteristics that build confidence in accurate identification.

This family-friendly program offers an engaging learning experience for bird enthusiasts of all ages. Advance registration is required for all participants.
