About the event

Easy walk, approximately 1-1.5 miles on a mostly paved level path around the lake. Kath will carry a spotting scope. The lake hosts a number of waterfowl which are particularly diverse during the winter. We should see a number of duck species, mergansers, geese, grebes, and coots. In the trees and bushes around the lake we will see common winter songbirds like ruby-crowned kinglets and white-crowned sparrows. Resident songbirds such as mountain chickadees, goldfinches, scrub-jays, and Cooper's hawks will hopefully make an appearance. Beginners most welcome!
