Join Field Trip Leader Jo Ann Cobb. This trail runs along Whites Creek and it’s a great place to find early breeding birds like Hummingbirds, Grosbeaks, Flycatchers, Tanager, Warblers, Towhee, 3 species of Nuthatches, and maybe a Bunting.

South Reno, NV

Difficulty: 2.5-3.5mi MOD - rolling uneven trails Elevation ±690ft

When: Friday MAY 8, 7:30a to ~3hrs

Description:

This is an opportunity to encounter the area’s nesting migrants compared to the residents and wintering birds.  We will walk around the Sagebrush habitat then up the Forest Service road leading to the trailhead parking area.  This trail runs along Whites Creek and it’s a great place to find early breeding birds like Hummingbirds, Grosbeaks, Flycatchers, Tanager, Warblers, Towhee, 3 species of Nuthatches, and maybe a Bunting.
